Downtown Colorado Springs sits next to I-25 in the Central Colorado Springs real estate area. Divided into the Downtown North and Downtown Central neighborhoods, this section of Colorado Springs real estate is a mix of businesses and residential housing. The Old North End Subdivision is located to the north of the Downtown Subdivision. To the south are the Ivywild and Stratton Meadows Subdivisions. East is the Shook's Run Subdivision. West of the Downtown Subdivision is Interstate 25.
Commuting
Paralleling Interstate 25, the Downtown Central and Downtown North real estate areas are good commuting choices, especially for your Colorado Springs Military Relocation plans. The Peterson Air Force Base real estate area is 15-20 minutes to the east. The Fort Carson real estate area is an approximate 19 minute drive or 9.47 miles from the Downtown real estate area. The Downtown Subdivision of Colorado Springs is the central event-oriented portion of the City of Colorado Springs. Local activities such as hockey games, rodeos, mountain biking, hiking, and art exhibitions are all within a 20 minute drive. A statue of General Palmer, who founded Colorado Springs in 1870, is still present in the center of town. Downtown offers small cafes, shopping, and restaurants.
