If you're looking for land with your home, to the east of the Colorado Springs real estate area is Falcon. Falcon is located in Peyton, Colorado and has been a ranching community for years. Since the development of the Falcon real estate area, one subdivision has maintained the ranch style history of the community. The area of Falcon Hills real estate, aka Paint Brush Hills has retained this "ranch-like" feeling by surrounding its large properties with ranch-style fences and offering large sized lots. Commuting
Access to Peterson Air Force base is easy, as Highway 24 is about 1 1/2 miles from this part of Peterson AFB real estate. Highway 24 takes you to Peterson Air Force Base in approximately 19 minutes. It is approximately 13.5 miles in distance. There are also several homes for sale near Schriever Air Force Base which is approximately 11.85 miles or a 17 minute commute. There is easy access to Schriever Air Force Base via Highway 94, making Falcon Hills an option for your Colorado Springs military relocation. The City of Colorado Springs is not far whether you travel south to access Highway 24 or north on Woodmen Road. There is plenty of activity on the Powers Corridor which is approximately 25 minutes from Falcon.
Recreation
Falcon Hills is located close to the award winning Antler Creek Golf Course. The golf course is the site of many amateur athletic golf championships.
Traveling east on Highway 24 to Elbert Road, north 5 miles on Elbert to Sweet Road, east 2 1/2 miles on Sweet to Gollihar, then north 1/2 mile on Gollihar brings you to the Homestead Ranch Regional Park area. The travel time to Homestead Ranch Regional Park is approximately 22 minutes or 14.5 miles. The Park opened in the fall of 1998. There are plenty of trails to walk in the park. Deer, coyotes, waterfowl, and some pronghorns roam in the park. Rattlesnake Butte, a landmark is located in the park. You can see the Front Range and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in the distance from this landmark.
In Calhan, Colorado to the east on Highway 24 are the County Fairgrounds. Also close to Calhan is the Paint Mines Interpretive Park. The park is a historical and geological site. There are colorful clay deposits that were deposited there over 55 million years ago. Wildlife in the park includes red fox, mule deer, some pronghorns, western meadowlarks, rock wrens, prairie falcons, hawks, and lizards are abundant in the park.
