Meridian Ranch Neighborhood Descriptions

Meridian Ranch is located in the town of Peyton, Colorado and is a golfing community with homes situated on the Antler Creek Golf Course. The Ranch borders the Colorado Springs real estate area to the east. Some of the homes in this Falcon real estate area are quite spacious offering over 5,000 square feet of living space. Quite a few of the homes have finished basements. Most of the homes were built in the 2000s, and new 2008 homes are for sale. There are walking trails throughout the Ranch to enjoy the great outdoors. Meridian Ranch also has a recreation center that is over 30,000 square feet in area and offers a variety of amenities.

This Meridian Ranch real estate area is east of Woodmen Road and to the north of Highway 24 in El Paso County. It has a large grocery store and department store, and places to eat out. It is a smaller community with a lower population density than Colorado Springs.

Schools

Falcon School District 49 School District has established an alliance with the Colorado Springs Parks and Recreation Department to support youth sports programs for kids in the Falcon community. The elementary and middle schools in Falcon are involved in registering kids for Park and Recreation sports programs. Some of the sports practices are taking place at schools as well as other parks throughout Colorado Springs.

The schools of attendance are Meridian Ranch Elementary School, Falcon Middle School, and Falcon High School. Meridian Ranch Elementary has an International Baccalaureate (IB) program.

Falcon High School offers a Career Academy Program. This program includes vocational training for Engineering Technology, Health Care, Hospitality, Travel, Tourism, and Information Technology. The program helps students prepare for their future by taking courses based on their interests and abilities that will allow them to pursue their ambitions. The program combines academic and technological education.

Neighboring Communities

Neighboring communities include Woodmen Hills to the South, and Falcon Hills to the west. These neighborhoods are also in the Falcon area and offer affordable real estate in this growing area. Although the homes in these areas are on the outskirts of Colorado Springs, they are located close to Highway 24 which takes you to Peterson Air Force Base. Highway 24 west will also take you the Colorado Springs real estate area. Schriever Air Force Base is due east.

Commuting

Meridian Ranch is a popular choice for a Colorado Springs military relocation. It is an approximate 14 mile drive, or 20 minutes from this part of Peterson AFB real estate and approximately 13 miles or a 22 minute drive for Schriever AFB real estate. It is an approximate 15 minute commute from Woodmen Road to the North end of Colorado Springs. The Merdian Ranch real estate area is within driving distance to the Powers Corridor where there are numerous shops, movies, and a variety of restaurants.

Recreation

The Antler Creek Golf Course has fairways that meander through Meridian Ranch. It is Colorado's longest golf course, and is the second longest golf course in the U.S. The golf course was built in 2004 and received the honor of best new course in 2004 by the Colorado Avid Golfer. The golf course has three lakes and 73 bunkers. The CreekView Grill is located in the Antler Creek Club House. The Club House also has a Pro Shop.

The Meridian Ranch Recreation Center is operated by the Pikes Peak YMCA. It is a 30,000 square foot facility that has a gym that has a weight training area, basketball and volleyball courts, outdoor swimming pool and multipurpose rooms, and a fitness and aerobics area. Programs offered include adult and youth sports including volleyball, basketball, indoor soccer and flag football. The Center also offers group exercise classes.
