Fountain Neighborhood Descriptions
The Fountain Subdivision is located in the original City of Fountain, southeast of Colorado Springs real estate areas. The City of Fountain is the oldest city in El Paso County, Colorado. This historical southern El Paso County real estate area was founded in 1859 and was an agricultural center in the Fountain Valley region. Fountain was selected the Millennium City of the U.S. in 1999 by the New York Times. In 2002 Fountain was named an "All-America City" by the National Civic League. There are several parks and trails in and near the Subdivision.
The Fountain Valley real estate area is a small rural area. Fountain Creek and the Union Pacific Railroad travel through the Fountain Subdivision. The Fountain Subdivision was established in 1887. You will find charming turn of the century homes in this Subdivision and a few homes that were built through the early 2000s. Most of the homes were built in the 1970s.

Neighboring Communities
Neighboring communities include the Fountain Creek Regional Park and Hanson Nature Park to the north of the Fountain real estate area. East of the Subdivision are the Mesa Vista, Wild Oak Farms, and Countryside real estate areas. These Subdivisions are newer housing developments with homes that were built in the 1980s-2000s. Fort Carson Army Base is located to the west of the Subdivision. To the south is undeveloped land.
Commuting
Traveling to Fort Carson real estate is an estimated 17 minutes, or 11.80 miles from Fountain. The Colorado Springs Municipal Airport is an estimated 19 minute drive, or 9.95 miles from the Subdivision. A respectable location for your Colorado Springs military relocation plans.
Recreation
The Lorraine Education and Community Center is located in the City of Fountain in the Fountain Subdivision. The YMCA operates out of the Community Center. The facility is open six days a week (closed on Sundays).
The City of Fountain has several parks. The Aga City Park is the oldest community park in the Fountain Subdivision. It is 4 acres in area. The Park has a basketball court, BBQ grills, a pavilion, a play structure, softball field, tennis court, and picnic tables. The Mayor's Park is a neighborhood park that has benches, a water fountain, and a restored railroad caboose. The Mayor's Park is the location for the City's annual Holiday Festival of Lights.
The Adams Open Space is also in the Subdivision. The City of Fountain received a grant from the Greater Outdoors Colorado. The grant was used to purchase approximately 50 acres of land for future trails and nature preservation. The area currently has hiking and walking trails throughout the subdivisions that total 4.85 miles.
The Fountain Valley Chamber of Commerce hosts an annual golf tournament at the Appletree Golf Course. The tournament includes a continental breakfast, door prizes, lunch, and awards recognition. Another annual event in Fountain, Colorado is the Fountain Fall Festival. The Festival takes place on Labor Day and includes a pancake breakfast, parade, arts and craft sales, car show, riding and roping events, a tractor pull, and a dance.
The Pueblo Reservoir is a short 30 minute drive south from the Fountain Subdivision. The Reservoir has swimming, water-skiing, boating, camping, sailing, and fishing on Lake Pueblo. The Pueblo State Park has 400 campsites.
