    Pinon Valley Neighborhood Descriptions

    The Pinon Valley Subdivision is located in the northwestern part of the Colorado Springs real estate area in El Paso County. This quiet subdivision was established in 1979 with the last filing in 1998. The Pinon Valley community is part of the Rockrimmon real estate area and offers affordable homes in a desirable, comfortable neighborhood.

    The Ute Valley Park is located in the Pinon Valley real estate area. The park is enormous encompassing 338.4 acres of land. Wildlife such as deer, rabbits, and foxes frequent the park and the neighborhood. Some of the homes are situated in the Ute Valley Park bluffs on the east side of the subdivision and offer mountain views. The North Douglas Creek Trail is a proposed trail which is located to the south of the subdivision. It will connect to the Foothills Trail which is located in the Pinon Valley neighborhood. Both trails are part of the City of Colorado Springs vast trail system. The Pinon Valley Park is a city park located in the community.

Mountain Shadows real is a subdivision located in the foothills of the Front Range to the west of the Pinon Valley community. Chipeta Elementary School is located in the Mountain Shadows real estate area. The Flying W Ranch borders the Mountain Shadows community.

    A mix of businesses, shopping/restaurants as well as the Kissing Camels real estate area is located to the south of Pinon Valley. A large grocery store called Albertson's is also located to the south of the community. The Ute Valley Park borders the subdivision to the east. The Pinecliff real estate area borders the Pinon Valley Subdivision on a portion of the east side.

    Commuting

    The Pinon Valley Subdivision is located close to the Garden of the Gods Road. With quick access to I-25, this community is a good choice for your Colorado Springs military relocation plans. The USAF Academy is an approximate 11 minute drive, or 7.12 miles from the Pinon Valley and is a part of the Air Force Academy real estate area. Garden of the Gods Road will take you to I-25 in approximately 7 minutes. I-25 provides easy north/south access to the City of Colorado Springs, as well as neighboring communities. There are several homes for sale near Fort Carson as well. The Fort Carson main gate is 14 miles or 20 minutes south of Pinon Valley.

    Traveling west on Garden of the Gods Road provides access to the west part of Colorado Springs. The historical Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City are west side locations. The commute to Colorado Boulevard which travels through these areas is approximately 15 minutes.

    Recreation

    The Ute Valley City Park is located on Vindicator Drive. The Park offers miles of walking and biking trails. The trail surfaces are natural. Also located in the subdivision is the Pinon Valley Park. This city park encompasses 5.7 acres of land. It offers a basketball court, picnic tables, picnic shelter, playground, drinking fountain, soccer/softball field, and volleyball courts. It is handicapped accessible.

    The Garden of the Gods is located to the south of the Pinon Valley Subdivision. The Garden of the Gods is a huge open space area that offers walking/biking trails, rock climbing, and horse back riding. It is open to the public daily.

    The Foothills Trail runs along the east and west sides of Centennial Boulevard and through the Pinon Valley community. The surface is gravel, millings and concrete and is 6.5 miles long. The North Douglas Creek Trail is 1.25 miles long and is a gravel surface.
