Rockrimmon Neighborhood Descriptions
In the northwest part of the Colorado Springs real estate area is the charming, unique Rockrimmon neighborhood. The original Rockrimmon real estate area was established in 1969-1984. There are several smaller miscellaneous neighborhoods within the original Rockrimmon Subdivision. Commuting
You can't get much closer to the USAF Academy than this Rockrimmon location which is definitely part of the Air Force Academy real estate area. It is an approximate 10 minute commute to the South Gate and a good option for a Colorado Springs military relocation. There are also several homes near Fort Carson, with the main gate 14 miles or 17minutes south of Rockrimmon. Commuting to the Denver or Pueblo areas is a breeze due to the close location to Interstate I-25 of this neighborhood.
Recreation
Rockrimmon Trail is 2.1 mile long trail that runs from the Gold Hills Park (located in the Rockrimmon subdivision). It connects to the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail to the east and to Ute Valley Park to the southwest. The surface is natural, concrete and gravel.
Golden Hill Park is a city park located in the Rockrimmon real estate area. It is 5.0 acres in area and offers, a baseball field, basketball court, picnic area, large group picnic area and shelter, playground and trails/sidewalk paths. The park is handicapped accessible.
The Garden of the Gods Park is an approximate 15 minute drive. The park includes walking/hiking trails and paths, horseback riding, and rock climbing. It is open all year-around.
Situated on Rockrimmon Boulevard (aka Woodmen Road) brings you easy access to shopping and entertainment located on Academy Boulevard.
