Discovery Neighborhood Descriptions
The Discovery Subdivision is nestled in the woods off Woodmen Road in the northwestern part of the Colorado Springs real estate area. The Discovery Subdivision was built in 1972-1986. Within the Discovery Subdivision is the Discovery at Ravencrest Condominium neighborhood which was built in 1983-1993. This Rockrimmon real estate area is a serene, quiet neighborhood where wildlife visitors are common. Deer and rabbits are frequent visitors in the Discovery real estate area. Fort Carson is 14.5 miles or 20 minutes to the south of Discovery, placing it within the Fort Carson real estate area. The Discovery community is located close to I-25 which provides easy north/south access to the Colorado Springs area, and to the Denver and Pueblo areas. Woodmen Road is a main access road to Academy Boulevard to the east, and is located close to the subdivision.
Recreation

The Pikes Peak Greenway trail is a 14 mile long trail. It runs along Monument and Fountain Creek and connects with the Sante Fe Trail to the north of Colorado Springs. The trail is concrete, asphalt, and gravel. For summer and fall fun, the trail is a perfect place to ride your bike. The trail lies to the east of the Discovery subdivision.
Discovery Park is located on Buckeye Drive. It encompasses 11.7 acres. The park offers a baseball/softball field, two playgrounds, picnic tables, a football/soccer field, and a trail/sidewalk path. Woodstone Park is also situated on Woodmen Road. It offers a picnic area, playground, picnic shelter, sledding area, soccer and t-ball field, and trails/sidewalks. It is 11.3 acres in area. Both parks are handicapped accessible.
Academy Boulevard has many restaurants available and entertainment. It is an approximate 15 minute drive to the east from the subdivision on Woodmen Road. The Chapel Hills Mall is located on Academy Boulevard and offers a multitude of shopping experiences and movie theater entertainment.
