Money.org | Museum
Through the discovery of money, America’s largest museum dedicated to numismatics brings culture to life. The museum explores art, history, science and much more to promote the diverse nature of money and related items.
The museum includes exhibits in three main galleries, where visitors can find spectacular rarities and learn about the history of our nation and the world as seen through money.
Did you know that Colorado Springs is home to a money museum? That’s right! Our very own museum dedicated to the green stuff. It is located in the Downtown Colorado Springs real estate area and is full of history just waiting to be discovered…not to mention money. The Money Museum offers an educational experience that will bring new meaning to that twenty dollar bill you have stashed in your wallet. The Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday and even offers group tours. There’s a ton to see so make sure you give yourself plenty of time to take in the gold, silver, and of course….the woven cotton blend we use everyday….cash.
City of Colorado Springs – Calendar
Homeowners and industry professionals will learn the latest landscape design tips, trends and more at the 2010 Peak to Prairie Landscape Symposium.
The City is participating in this two-day event which will focus on creating and maintaining unique and sustainable landscapes in our semi-arid climate. Regional experts will present a variety of topics, including the latest in water-wise landscape design, plant selection, installation and maintenance.
Colorado Springs Utilities is hosting a 2 day educational extravaganza next Friday and Saturday at the Double Tree Hotel (near the World Arena) on environmentally friendly and resource friendly landscaping techniques and products. Landscaping in Colorado Springs can be tricky, especially with our dry climate, clay & sand soils, and cool nights. This symposium should offer lots of tips on how to tackle these challenges while keeping your water bill low during the summer months….And that is something we could all use. While the Colorado Springs real estate area is fortunate to have our water supply come straight off Pikes Peak, it is still important to conserve our water and use it responsibly.

Jumby Bay, Antigua’s New Relaxation Machine – WSJ.com
Soaking in an outdoor tub at the Jumby Bay resort in Antigua, I’m so relaxed that my city-girl phobias fade away—even the lizard slithering up the wall and a few bugs in the bathwater don’t faze me.
In search of the perfect Caribbean island getaway over the years, I’ve found many resorts to be long on lizards and bugs but short on charm, service, food and accommodations to justify astronomical prices. That’s not the case at Jumby Bay, which reopened in December after an 18-month, $28 million spiffing-up. Long ranked among the best in the region, the property, after three decades, was showing its age. Now, it all works, from the stunning ocean-view rooms with all conveniences to the friendly, accommodating staff.
The Colorado Springs real estate area is a pretty amazing place. But I must admit that afternoons such as this, when the clouds seem to hoover but refuse to bring snow, make me wish for sunny, fluorescent blue water, and palm trees. Are you too looking for an escape from the cold winter weather? How about heading south to the Caribbean? The Jumby Bay resort in Antigua just recently reopened after undergoing a substantial remodel and from the above Wall Street Journal article it looks to be a pretty amazing place. And the best part is that they are currently offering specials that include a free night of stay!
