Colorado Springs’ Westside historic Old Colorado City (OCC) will be holding its 2nd Annual Ice On The Avenue on January 16-17, 2010. This year’s Ice on The Avenue will include ice sculptures located between 24th and 28th street along West Colorado Ave and side streets.On both Saturday and Sunday there will be many activities available for all ages. Plans include carving a large ice castle with ice slide(s) for children to play on during the Martin Luther King holiday weekend. Beginning around 10AM each day, there will be ice sculptures being carved at various locations within the event boundaries. Come & watch an original piece of ice-art being created!
Looking for something to do next weekend that will both amaze and have you thinking of new ways to utilize your refrigerator’s ice machine? Well…you’re in luck, because Old Colordao City will be holding its annual ice sculpting event over the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend.
Last year’s sculpting event was a huge success and this year’s promises to be even better! Events will include an ice bowling alley, an ice castle for kids to climb on, and, of course, ice sculpture demonstrations. This is a great winter activity that will actually benefit from the unseasonably cold weather we’ve been experiencing lately. So be sure to take advantage of the weather and head to the Old Colorado City real estate area this coming weekend for some outdoor entertainment that is sure to be both exciting and breath-taking.
