Treecycle your tannenbaum

Dec. 23, 2009

When the time comes to take down the tannenbaum, don’t send it to the landfill. For only a $5 donation, you can recycle your tree at a number of locations across Colorado Springs.

Recycled trees will be ground into mulch and available to county residents for use in gardens and landscaping. Kids benefit, too. Your $5 donation will help support El Pomar youth sport program throughout the county.

Treecycle

* Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 2-3, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Ever wonder what to do with your tree after the holidays are over? Here’s a great opportunity to re-purpose your Christmas tree and give it a new life while also helping out a great cause. Colorado Springs residents take great pride in our outdoor enthusiasm and stewardship. With the help of the City of Colorado Springs, the El Pomar Foundation, and numerous other local businesses, Colorado Springs residents can show their pride in our community by recycling their trees into mulch (the mulch is available to the community at no cost) and also contribute to one of our many successful youth sports programs. The El Pomar Youth Sports Foundation has contributed greatly to sustaining youth sports advocacy by helping create and maintain the El Pomar Sports Complex and numerous youth programs. Organizations such as the El Pomar Foundation are one of the many reasons Colorado Springs Real Estate remains so desirable. So don’t forget to drop your tree off at one the many locations shown above and continue the holiday spirit by donating to this fantastic community program!
